Our DVD’s and audio CD’s will allow the viewers to see how well and effective our short reed goose calls are in the field and over water while goose and waterfowl hunting and also allow those listening to our audio’s to hear how realistic these goose calls sound when listening to the audio while at the same time learn calling vocalizations of the Canada goose and calling techniques that can be used to become a more effective caller. We don’t claim to be the best, just one of the best. Our acrylic goose calls are not shown but will be available very soon. We hope to place our goose calls in the hands of young goose callers that can crank them up and win competitions such as the World Goose Calling Competition, State Goose Calling Competitions, Local Goose Calling Competitions, International Goose Calling Championships, US Goose Calling Competitions, and Regional Competitions etc. Our goose calls have what it takes to win competitions. We will not ship any goose call unless it is properly tuned. Our calls are not tuned by anyone other than us. No assembly line! There are a lot of calls on the market and in my opinion they are not properly tuned. As you have probably experienced I have purchased many calls when I was younger from local retailers. Today many calls hang in Wal-Marts, K-Marts and are sold at and on many online shops but they aren’t worth the money you pay for them. We guarantee our calls will be properly tuned. Guys our calls will definitely make a Great Edition to your or any ones lanyard. In this paragraph we have tried to give you an idea of how well our calls function, the calls appearance, sound and what most serious water fowlers, guide’s, outfitter’s, avid hunter’s, goose hunter’s can expect if they or you purchase one. We have sound files below. The sound files were recorded using a home PC and are not of the best quality available. We hope to offer or make available sound files that will give the listener a true sound that reflects the true sound the call is capable of making. The sound files below do not give the calls we manufacture any justice. I’m Dan Voshell and at the age of 50 I have been goose hunting for years and at one time I was actively involved in competitions. I know what makes a good call that is extremely effective in the field and in competition. I have had my own call since the early 90’s. But in my opinion the call should be extremely effective in the field. The birds will definitely let you know if your call is effective by the way they react. I haven’t had a competition judge toll on the stage yet. Competitions are great but field success is more important to most callers in my opinion. In 95’ I designed my own goose call and utilized it in the field with tremendous success. I found that many calls offered required a lot of air pressure to break the reed over. After discussing goose calls with many hunters I found that many hunters wanted a call that produced a realistic sound, a goose call that was capable of mimicking all the vocalizations of the Canada goose with minimal air pressure. After listening to their comments I went to work and developed a call that can accommodate the hunters idea of an ideal call. I was successful and have produced a line of goose calls. Our line of calls is named Voshells Calls™ The Chesapeake Clucker™ is one of the most user friendly goose calls today. It requires very little air pressure, is very durable, has the ability to mimic any and all of the Canada goose vocalizations, is reasonably priced and very attractive.
In our area we don’t have many resident geese. Most of the geese we hunt are migrator’s. Migrator’s and Resident Canada Geese respond exceptionally well to my call. I have actually had geese touch the ground with their feet in the decoy spread and I would continue with low murmurs mixed with a few clucks and cries and they have turned in my direction and literally came with 18” of me and not over four feet off the ground.
